Yummy Ways To Face The Winter

This time winter has broken the records of past four decades but there are many ways to beat the falling temperature. All of us know that winter season brings along options for various eatables and beverages. In India we can see our mothers preparing many delicacies to provide us more immunity and strength. It is time to see mouth-watering eatables getting prepared in our homes and indulging in the wonderful and compelling taste of those food items.


This is a common sweet ball which can be found in every second house during winters. Mawa ladoos are made up of healthy ingredients such as dry grated coconut, almonds, cashews, dry dates, pistachios, sesame and raisins. All these are beneficial to our body as the dry fruits provide us a lot of energy and warmth which is quite necessary for our body. These ingredients are quite useful in improving the brain.


This is prepared using grated carrot, sugar, almonds, milk and butter. Carrot is a resourceful vegetable which can be used in many ways. It can be used to make salads, soups, juices and sweets. It is a good source of beta carotene which is released while it is cooked. Gaajar ka halwaa is one of the favourite desserts of Indians. Carrots have anti-oxidants which boost the immune system and fight against bacterial and viral infections. Eating gaajar ka halwa also keeps common cold at bay.


It is made up of jaggery, seasame seeds, cardamom and ghee. Jaggery (molasses sugar) is derived from sugarcane juice. Jaggery is a natural good source of carbohydrate. It also strengthens the nervous system. Seasame seeds are a good source of calcium, copper, magnesium, iron which are essential for our body. Seasame seeds are also effective for maintaining the blood pressure.


These are the most famous in this season. This delicious ladoo belongs to the state of Rajasthan. This involves deep frying in ghee along with gaund (edible gum) and all the dry fruits such as almonds, cashew nuts, walnuts, raisins, etc.


It is made from aamla known as Indian gooseberry which is used in many ayurvedic medicines as it is the richest source of Vitamin C and effective cure of obesity, indigestion, aging, falling of hair and weak immune system. Aamle ka muraaba is quite useful in curing cough and congestion which is quite excellent in this season. Eating this can help improve brain power and eyesight, texture of hair and health of skin.


This can be easily made from ginger paste, turmeric, ghee, pepper, milk and salt. Ginger is quite famous to provide relief against cough and flu. Moreover, it also improves blood circulation and immune system. Ginger is also effective for those suffering from common respiratory diseases. Turmeric has probable effects on health problems such as common cold, body pain, diabetes and cancer. Ginger soup is easy and quick to make which is a healthy and tasty package.
