In the year 2022, many big cases came before the Delhi Police. The police solved the mystery of many cases soon, but there were some cases which the police had to work hard to solve. Know 6 such big cases of the year 2022 in which Delhi Police had to show its best performance.

1. In the initial months of the year, two mobile apps Bulli Bai and Sully Deals created a massive furore. In this case it was found that hundreds of Muslim women including many prominent personalities were listed for auction. The Cyber Cell of Delhi Police cracked the case with the arrest of 20-year-old Neeraj Bishnoi, the creator of the ‘Bully Bai’ app from Assam’s Jorhat.

2. The arrest of Mohammad Zubair, co-founder of fact-checking website Alt News, made headlines around the world in June. According to the police, Zubair was arrested for one of his tweets posted in 2018 for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

3. In the year 2022, Sukesh Chandrasekhar kept increasing the problems of Delhi Police. The thug Sukesh Chandrasekhar confused the investigators. Police continue to unearth the conspiracy behind the Rs 200 crore extortion case involving high-profile personalities like Bollywood actresses Jacqueline Fernandez, Nora Fatehi.

4. Shraddha Walkar’s murder made headlines for several days. After allegedly strangling Shraddha on May 18, Aftab Poonawalla chopped her body into 35 pieces. Aftab kept Shraddha’s dead body’s pieces at his house for about three weeks. A friend of Shraddha informs her father that he has not been able to contact Shraddha for the last two months. After this, Shraddha’s father lodged a complaint in Mumbai. The case came to light when the Delhi Police arrested the accused Poonawalla in November and started searching for the body parts of Walkar. Following Poonawalla’s confession, the police scanned various forest areas and even drained a pond to search for pieces of Shraddha’s missing body. Several days later, 13 body pieces were finally recovered from the forest areas of Mehrauli and Gurugram.

5. After the Shraddha murder case, a similar incident also came to light from East Delhi, where a 45-year-old man was murdered and his body was hacked to pieces by his wife and step-son on May 30 on suspicion that he had dirty intentions towards his step-daughter and daughter-in-law. The mother-son duo later allegedly dismembered the body and stuffed it in a bag, which they dumped at the Ramlila Maidan in Kalyanpuri in June.

6. Following the said incident, a 17-year-old girl was attacked with acid in West Delhi, highlighting the laxity in the implementation of the ban on the sale of acid. Towards the end of the year, in December, two masked men threw acid on a 17-year-old girl in Dwarka’s Mohan Garden. After this incident, once again questions were raised about the safety of women in the national capital.
