West Bengal: Cyclonic  ‘Amphan’ affects 6 cr people

In West Bengal 6 crores people have been affected in 16 districts of the state from recent Cyclonic storm ‘Amphan’. Giving this information in Kolkata the State Home Secretary, Mr. Alapan Bandyopadhyay said that 3 lakh people are still in the relief camps in different areas.

The State Home Secretary said that the Power supply, which was snapped after the storm in various areas, has been restored. He added that authorities are working on a war footing to bring back the Power, Water supply, Tele-communication and Internet services in the rest of the areas. People in many areas today staged demonstrations protesting against the lack of essential services after 6 days of Cyclonic storm which hit the State on last Wednesday.
