Uttar Pradesh govt to vaccinate one crore people in June
Uttar Pradesh government will launch a massive drive today to vaccinate one crore people against Corona across the state this month.
So far, the vaccination drive was confined to 23 districts only. The drive will be conducted in all 75 districts of the state to safeguard the people from the deadly coronavirus and will focus on beneficiaries of both the age groups: 18 and those above the age of 45. Separate ‘Guardian Special’ booths will be set up in all districts. Such persons whose children are below the age of 12 years will be contacted and encouraged to get vaccinated on priority. For that a separate Guardian special slot will also be available on the Co-Vin portal. On such booths parents will need to show the proof of age of their children.
Special camps will also be set up for journalists, government employees and members of the judiciary, Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to prepare a work plan for a special vaccination drive for socially and economically weaker sections like drivers, vendors, and rickshaw pullers from 15 june. In order to meet the target of 1 crore vaccinations, around 6,000 vaccination centres will be set up across the state. State has already given more than one crore 80 lakh doses to the beneficiaries and more than 20 lakh people from 18 to 44 years age group are inoculated.
