UP achieves 55,000 Covid-19 testing capacity per day

Uttar Pradesh has achieved 55 thousand Covid-19 testing capacity per day and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to further increase the number of testings in the state. Stressing the need to ramp it further, he said that the current capacity of 20,000 tests per day by Rapid Antigen method can be increased to 50,000 tests per day in a phased manner.

Presiding over a review meeting this afternoon, the Chief Minister asked officials to expedite door-to-door survey and do as many medical screenings as possible. He said those who are found suspect in medical screening should be subjected to Rapid Antigen Covid testing and arrangements of treatment should be made for those who are found Covid positive after the test.

The state government has already ordered closure of all markets on Saturdays and Sundays to make the cleanliness drive successful. There are positive results of the special cleanliness and sanitization drive on weekends. The drive has been launched to contain Covid-19 as well as other communicable diseases.
