UP: 341 new covid-19 positive cases found; 3,204 people recover

In Uttar Pradesh spurt in corona cases continues and in last 24 hours, 341 new positive cases have been reported in the state. Active cases stand at 2,173 while 138 deaths have occurred due to COVID-19 and 3,204 people have been cured/discharged till now.

In last 24 hours 54 cases were found in Barabanki followed by basti where cases were 16. Basti district has also seen spike in cases as 44 persons were found positive here 2 days back.

State’s Principal Secretary Health, Amit Mohan Prasad said that a high incidence of infections being observed among migrant workers returning to state and village and ‘mohalla’ monitoring committees have been asked to be on vigil. He said that Over 5.42 lakh migrant workers are under the surveillance of ASHA workers. Addl. Chief Secretary, Home, Awanish Awasthi said that So far, over 20 lakh migrant workers have returned, and each district had on average received 70,000 to 1 lakh migrant workers.
