“Gar firdaus bar ruye zami astaye hami asto hami asto hami asto humi ast”. Kashmir, which is called the heaven on earth, is still waiting to be united again after 75 years. The country is celebrating the Amrit Festival on the completion of 75 years of independence, but the country’s forehead, Jammu and Kashmir, awaits still for the return of Gilgit and Baltistan, the areas of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir illegally occupied by Pakistan since 1947 and the Aksai Chin area taken over by China from Pakistan in 1963. PoK land is being used to spread terrorism in the border areas of India, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab etc. On the other hand, taking advantage of the disputed border line, China infiltrates into Ladakh and North East areas.

In India’s glorious and distinguished historical knowledge tradition, it is believed that Kashmir was named after Rishi Kashyap which was later settled by Emperor Ashoka in 250 BC. This entire region establishes India more effectively at the strategic, diplomatic, political and international level, which in ancient times connected the borders of the Republic of India with China in the north and Afghanistan in the west.

Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, with his administrative skills, determination and diplomatic understanding, got 566 princely states of the country merged into the Republic of India. At the same time, due to the then political circumstances, his distance from the merger of Jammu and Kashmir opened the doors of crisis for the future. In these 75 years from 1947 to 2022, we have always reiterated our resolve that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. Dedicated efforts have been made in the last few years to regain what India lost in its 75 years journey from 15th August, 1947 to 2022. The country has got the hope that the land of India which was unauthorizedly occupied by force and treachery in October 1947 and 1963, will come back and only then in true sense we will realize the dream of a united India and hoist the tricolor all over India. Will find

On August 05, 2019, 72 years after independence, the dream of one country, one legislation and one emblem has been realized in Jammu and Kashmir. After the removal of the provisions of Article 370 and 35A, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh got an opportunity to inscribe a new record of development as Union Territories like other states of the country. Now Jammu and Kashmir has joined the race for development with equal opportunities and equal basis like the rest of the country. The Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah had described this in the Parliament as a historic step to correct a historical mistake.

Importance from diplomatic and strategic point of view: Jammu and Kashmir is mainly divided into five parts: Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit and Baltistan. In the current situation, Pakistan and China stake their claim on parts of Kashmir, an integral part of India. It is noteworthy that India has Jammu, Kashmir Valley, Ladakh and Siachen Glacier, while Pakistan has kept unauthorized control over Gilgit-Baltistan, while China has also forcibly occupied some parts which include Shaxgam Valley and Aksai Chin regions which are originally part of PoK.

Resolving the issue of PoK will reduce the expenditure on the security of the border of the north of the country and this money will be spent in the development of the area so that the life of the local people can progress.

Freedom from terrorism and tension: India has been battling Pakistan-backed terrorism for the past several decades. In such a situation, Kashmir is very important for internal security. Since the part which is occupied by Pakistan, there is a hideout of terrorists who keep working to destabilize India and affect the pace of development, to deal with this, it is necessary that India should have control over the whole of Kashmir.

Contact with South Asian countries: For India’s development, it is necessary to maintain on-ground connectivity with South Asian countries. This is not the case in the present situation. Actually, India can connect directly with other South Asian nations through Afghanistan, but according to the current situation, this is not possible. Since the part of Kashmir with which the border of Afghanistan is adjoining falls in PoK, so India is in air connectivity between the South Asian nations, not in land connectivity. However, India has taken some steps to establish connectivity by land route.

The migration will stop, there will be development: Incidents of terrorism and terror forced the Kashmiri Pandits to flee. Despite being local residents of Kashmir, they had to leave their homes and live like refugees. The return of these areas will give the citizens of the country a chance to return to their homes. After the decision of the present government to remove Article 370 and 35A, a new script of development has started being written in the area. With many development projects in Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, people have started getting the benefits of central schemes.

Water, forests and mountains: This entire area in the foothills of the Himalayas is endowed with abundant mineral wealth. There is an abundance of rare types of herbs and other medicinal plants used in Indian ancient medicine and Ayurveda. Even in the unauthorized occupied part of Pakistan, there are these medicinal plants, whose conservation will be of great value to the entire human race. Indiscriminate deforestation of forests and mountains in the blind race for commercial purposes has adversely affected the climate and ecosystem of the region. It has become necessary to take steps to protect and preserve it.

Business promotion: The return of the territories occupied by Pakistan and China to India will establish territorial equality. The present Central Government is making various efforts for inclusive development in the region but they have not been fully implemented. With regional parity, the three (India, Pakistan and China) will also be able to protect their business interests more strongly. The apples of Kashmir are famous in the world and apple is an important part of the food here as well. In such a situation, along with apples, other ingredients will be facilitated to reach the world market.

Increase in cultural wealth and tourism: If seen from the historical point of view, the united Jammu and Kashmir has been known as the zone of temples. But over a period of time the unauthorized occupation destroyed this heritage. With the return from PoK, Kashmir will not only get a complete look, but its cultural heritage will also increase. Apart from this, there will be a reduction in the security arrangements made during religious visits, so that the devotees will be able to have darshan with more convenience and ease.

About 75 years ago, Maharaja Hari Singh of Jammu and Kashmir had said on the night of the attack, ‘I am going to sleep, tomorrow morning if you do not hear the sound of Indian military planes in Srinagar, then shoot me in my sleep.’ Upholding the faith of Hari Singh ji,  the next day the Indian warriors drove out the Pakistan-backed tribal army. Today, as a result of the mistakes of history, Kashmir may not be in front of us in a monolithic form, but the determined government at the Center has started positive efforts to free the areas occupied by PoK and China. Dedicated to the principle of Antyodaya and the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas (The support of all, the progress of all, and the confidence of all), the Central Government has given a new momentum to the development of Jammu Kashmir, which had been neglected for decades.

‘If there is a heaven on earth, it is here, it is here, it is here’– that Kashmir, which is known for its famous ancient beauty and unique and rich culture and food, will regain the same glory in the coming future.
