Uddhav Thackeray group gets a blow from SC after Election Commission; Eknath Shinde occupies office too

The Supreme Court has refused an urgent hearing against the decision to give the name of the party ‘Shiv Sena’ and its election symbol to the Eknath Shinde faction. Apart from this, the Shiv Sena office located in the Vidhan Sabha has also been handed over to the Eknath Shinde faction. Eknath Shinde’s supporting MLAs met Speaker Rahul Narvekar and demanded this. After this, the speaker took this decision. In this way, the office of the Vidhan Sabha has gone out of the hands of the Uddhav faction. Apart from this, the Supreme Court has also refused an immediate hearing.

The Supreme Court told the lawyer of the Uddhav Thackeray group that there cannot be an immediate hearing in this matter. The bench said that you file the application tomorrow, then we will consider it. The Uddhav faction demanded that an immediate hearing should be held against the decision of the Election Commission to give the Shiv Sena name and symbol to the Eknath Shinde faction. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said that the application on which urgent hearing is being sought was not even mentioned in the list. Therefore, it should be mentioned in the list tomorrow and then the hearing will be considered. Meanwhile, in response to the application of the Uddhav Thackeray faction, Eknath Shinde has also filed a caveat. The Shinde faction says that no decision should be given regarding the name and symbol of Shiv Sena without hearing their side.

It is noteworthy that on Friday evening, the Election Commission had decided to give the symbol and name of Shiv Sena to the Eknath Shinde faction. Since this decision, the Uddhav Thackeray faction has been agitated and is accusing the BJP of breaking the party. On the other hand, Eknath Shinde is happy with the decision of the Election Commission and says that our claim to be the real Shiv Sena has been sealed. Significantly, Uddhav Thackeray has also called a meeting of MLAs and big leaders today. It is believed that during this meeting he can make some big announcement.

Notably, earlier, the fight reached the streets in Maharashtra over the claim on Shiv Sena. The Eknath Shinde faction had staked claim on the Shiv Sena Bhavan, the party headquarters in Mumbai. The Shinde faction is upbeat after the Election Commission allotted the name and symbol and has claimed the party office as a temple for itself. Uddhav Thackeray supporters are furious with this claim and they have come on the road. Uddhav supporters gathered outside the Shiv Sena building and raised slogans. Not only this, these people also raised slogans against the Election Commission.
