Twitter permanently suspends US President Donald Trump’s account
Hundreds of Trump supporters entered the US Capitol as the US Congress attempted to certify Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election. The ensuing violence led to the death of four civilians and a police officer. Twitter had warned then that it would ban Mr Trump permanently if he breached the platform’s rules again.
Meanwhile the Democrats have planned to introduce an article of impeachment against President Donald Trump for his role in Wednesday’s invasion of the US Capitol. US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi has said she would move forward with impeachment if Mr Trump did not resign immediately.
