There should be no shortage of oxygen, Center’s advisory to states

Updated: December 24, 2022 4:39 pm

In the midst of devastation caused by Corona in China, the Central Government has issued another advisory to the states today. Taking lessons from the outcry during the delta variants (second wave), states have been asked to ensure adequate medical oxygen. In the new advisory, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has said that the availability of liquid medical oxygen should be ensured and the Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) plant should be kept running.

It is noteworthy that the central and state governments are reviewing at every level to save the country from the possible fourth wave of Corona. Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned on Thursday that the corona pandemic is not over yet, as cases in China and other countries are witnessing a huge increase.

Notably, India has seen three waves of Covid. During the second wave, hospitals were overcrowded with patients. Many lives were lost due to lack of oxygen. Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said today that RT-PCR test is mandatory for passengers coming to India from China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Thailand to detect corona virus infection.

Mandaviya said that if any passenger from these countries is found to have symptoms of corona virus infection or if the infection is confirmed in them in the investigation, they will be kept separate. It is also said that passengers coming from these countries will have to fill a form and give information about their health status.

At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned against the negligence in view of the increase in the cases of Covid-19 in China and other countries and directed strict monitoring. The Union Health Ministry has already asked the Ministry of Civil Aviation to ensure airport COVID screening of two per cent of passengers arriving in India on every international flight from Saturday so as to prevent any new variant of corona virus from entering the country.

Here it is worth mentioning that the biggest wave of Covid so far has come in China. There cases of Covid are seen increasing rapidly in the last few days. Chinese health experts say that about 80 crore people are likely to be infected by Covid-19 in the country in the coming time. The NPR report says that the total death toll from Corona in China is likely to exceed 5 lakhs. But at present this figure, as per official report, is very less. But according to some photos going viral, something else is visible. Yes, at this time, according to which China is measuring the death of those who died of Covid, that method is completely opposite to the standards and rules set by the World Health Organisation.
