Surprise Suspects As Saradha Scam Net Widens
Post-dismissal of Home Secretary Anil Goswami for trying to stall the arrest of Matang Sinh in the Saradha scam case, many bureaucrats and politicians are said to be shaking in their boots (chappals in Kolkata). According to sources, the list of officers and politicians who either directly or indirectly benefited from Saradha or were paid to keep their mouths shut and not reveal wrong-doing.
Meanwhile, TMC insiders are reported to be in contact of Mukul Roy, who has lost much of his clout since the CBI started interrogating him. It is said, he is trying to garner more TMC MLAs—four have already joined him—and at the time of Bongaon Lok Sabha constituency by-poll and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation elections spring out a strong block of disgruntled TMC members. They are likely to be supported by the BJP. Mamta didi is said to be anxious to show a united front and is trying to placate her flock. But the current seems to be flowing in the opposite direction.
