SRK’S Million Dollar Baby

Updated: July 26, 2014 4:29 pm

A film’s promotional drive is usually a big component of its budget. While other producers are pushing their stars to give time for interviews, photo shoots and TV shows, SRK has a new game-plan in mind. He is planning worldwide shows with the film’s cast, including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Boman Irani, ahead of his next flick Happy New Year’s release. Director Farah Khan will also join the Happy troupe. The preparation for the travelling mega show has already begun. The actors have been asked to allot dates in August for rehearsals, which will be conducted in SRK’s office. They have already allotted dates for the shows, which will be held in September and October.

Shradhdha Banned

Since the last few weeks, there have been murmurs of displeasure about Bollywood’s rising star Shraddha Kapoor among the shutterbugs. Seems that two consecutive hits (Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain) have made the actress camera shy. Unlike her ever obliging co-star Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha has been turning her face away from the photographers too many times and has finally invited a ban from the camera-wielding community.

The ‘No Sharaddha’ stand could not have come at a worse time for the actress who was busy with the post-release promotions of Ek Villian, brand endorsement appearances and the music launch of her upcoming flick Haider on July 8. Unless the photographers are appeased, she will be blacked out in the media. Buzz is, her publicists are planning to meet with the photographers and sort outthe issue.

No New Partner-Ship

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror Salman Khan will be remaking Mahesh Manjrekar’s Marathi film Shikshanacha Aaichya Gho in Hindi. The actor has also agreed to play an important role in the film, which was on hold for nearly two and a half years. But there is a hitch. Govinda, whom Salman and Mahesh have asked to play the central role, is yet to give his nod. This comes as a big surprise as Salman and Govinda had been as thick as thieves since they co-starred in Partner. Buzz going around is that the relationship between the partners soured when Salman, instead of launching Govinda’s daughter Namrata as was planned, launched Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter, Sonakshi. However, Salman and Manjrekar, who have worked together in Wanted, Ready and Bodyguard in the recent past, are hoping that Govinda will eventually bite the bait. They have had multiple meetings with the actor regarding the project. The film is scheduled to go on floors early next year.

Kapil Is Not A Bank Chor

Comedian Kapil Sharma is no longer a part of Yash Raj Films’ upcoming movie Bank Chor. The production house said they and Sharma, who had signed a three-film contract with YRF earlier this year, decided to “part ways mutually”. The film will go on floor without Sharma, who is best known for his superhit television show Comedy Nights with Kapil. Bank Chor is a comic-caper and tells the story of three morons trying to rob a bank, who pick the worst day possible when everything that can go wrong, goes wrong and how they’re inadvertently caught in the crossfire of cops, industrialists and corrupt leaders. It is directed by Bumpy. The film is slated to release on March 6.
