Slippery wicket

The Operation UP of Rahul Baba seems nothing more than a flop show. Congress is desperate to build its squeaky image under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. But the local nexus has more dominance. Congress has targeted Bundelkhand to start with but the dispute over Hamirpur constituency may become a thorn for it. Congress has given ticket to Keshav Babu Shivhare. It is said that Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal favoured him to get the ticket. But the Congressmen in the state are saying that ticket is given to a drug mafia in collusion with a coal mafia. Shivhare is a convicted mafiosi and there is a big protest against his candidature.

ONCE BITTER TWICE SHY

One is not sure whether UPA has learnt any lesson from Anna’s movement or not but one spokesperson of Congress certainly has learnt a lot. It is Manish Tiwari who once attacked Anna just before the latter had started his fast in Ramlila Maidan and charged him with indulging in corruption himself. However, he had apologised both orally and in written, but after this incident he almost started avoiding briefing the press in Hindi. He also avoids commenting on Anna. Recently, after the statement of RSS chief Mohan Bhagvat that RSS workers had participated in Anna’s movement, while Digvijay Singh commented saying, now Anna should be asked who to be sent to mental asylum, Tiwari, when asked to officially comment on the issue, simply smiled and chose to exit silently.

IN THE DOCK

BJP spokesperson Tarun Vijay is in deep troubles nowadays. He has been in the eye of the storm for lots of negatives on his side more categorically the murder case of an RTI activist Shehla Masood as it revealed his illicit relations with her. Now party is thinking for asking his resignation from the Rajya Sabha membership. It was discussed in a meeting of the state BJP leaders with BJP state in-charge Rajnath Singh during his recent visit. It was decided to present this proposal to the national president Gadkari who had to address a public meeting the next day. But Gadkari had no time to meet the state leaders as he stayed there only for his speech. However, this has tolled the bell for Tarun Vijay. It is to be noted that though he has worked a lot in the state, the state leaders are not happy with his representation in the Rajya Sabha.

NOT AGAIN…

LK Advani has started his Rath Yatra against corruption from Sitabdiyara the birthplace of Jai Prakash Narayan. It officially started from Chhapra due to flood hitting hard in Sitabdiyara. Hardly had the Yatra of Advani been flagged of by Nitish Kumar, CM Bihar when the people were recalling that there was a Kerosene scam in 1990s in the same district. The case of that scam is still open and prime accused of that scam are now enjoying the commissioner rank in the cabinet of Mr Clean Nitish Kumar. That is why when Nitish Kumar was explaining his initiatives to end corruption in the state, in the public meeting held for the Yatra, people were murmuring foul about the scam.

TAILPIECE

Not many days passed by when the loud-spoken general secretary of Congress Digvijay Singh accused Anna once again of RSS support through a letter. Now, of late two youths beaten up one important member of Team Anna Prashant Bhushan in his chamber for his remarks regarding the referendum on J&K. The youths are said to be associated with the RSS. People and critics are wondering how wide Diggy Raja opens his mouth this time.
