Russia-Ukraine war completes One Year; Russia desires to return from war with honour
Something is achieved in every work. In such a situation, on completion of one year of the Russia-Ukraine war, it is time to know what has been achieved from the war.
This war has claimed more than 27 thousand lives in a year. At the same time, more than 1.86 crore people have been forced to leave the country by making them homeless. According to UNICEF, more than half a million children in Ukraine have lost their education due to the war. Also, there are no schools left for small children to study. These figures are different for all institutions.
On the night of 23 February 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military operation against Ukraine. A few hours later, i.e. in the early morning of February 24, suddenly airstrikes started taking place in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev, and the surrounding cities. This attack of Russia created a stir in the whole world. NATO member countries stood up to support Ukraine. Many countries including America, Britain, Poland, France started helping Ukraine while staying out of the war.
There is no exact figure of people killed in the Russia-Ukraine war, but according to different reports, more than three lakh people have been killed on both sides within a year. According to the report of Norway’s Chief of Defence, more than thirty thousand people of Ukraine have been killed in this war till 22 January 2023. More than one lakh twenty thousand Ukrainian soldiers have lost their lives. At the same time, many reports claim that more Russian soldiers have died than Ukraine. US statistzaics show that from 24 February 2022 to 16 February 2023, more than two lakh Russian soldiers have either been killed or taken hostage in Ukraine. Apart from this, more than seven thousand Ukrainian separatists who supported Russia have also been killed. More than two lakh soldiers and civilians are missing from both sides.
4 foreign nationals have also died due to the Russia-Ukraine war. An Indian student has also lost his life. According to statistics, a maximum of 12 citizens of Greece, eight citizens of Aizam lost their lives in this war.
Russia has so far completely occupied Ukraine’s Mariupol, Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk. After the war, Russia also captured Mykolaiv and Kharkiv. However, later the Ukrainian army recaptured these two states giving a strong fight to Russia. There is still a war of aggression between Russia and Ukraine in a number of states.
However, these are the same states, which are adjacent to Russia. Along with capturing new cities, Russian troops are shelling Ukrainian forces defending their territories. They are also being attacked with rockets. Russia is currently attacking from two sides from Aizam in the north and Severdonetsk in the west.
