Rs 70 crore spent on construction, Rs 20 crore on blast: Noida’s twin towers filled with 3700 kg of dynamite
The 32-storey twin towers built in Noida will be demolished at 2.30 pm on Sunday. Both the buildings built in 13 years will take only 12 seconds in demolition. Most people across the country want to see how the twin towers will collapse, but those living nearby fear how their homes will survive. Even if the house is saved, how will they avoid the dust from the rubble of the tower? This place is in Sector-93 and is included in the expensive area of Noida. The cost of a 3BHK flat here is around Rs 1 crore.
The company named Edifice has got the responsibility of demolishing the twin towers. This work is being done under the supervision of Project Manager Mayur Mehta. He says that they have filled 3700 kg of dynamite in the building. Long holes made in the pillars have to be filled with dynamite. Floor to floor connection has also been done.
Mehta further says that they are using waterfall technique to demolish the twin towers. This is a kind of wave effect, like ocean waves move. The whole process will be in the same way. The blasting will start from the basement and end on the 30th floor. This is called Ignite of Explosion. After that the building will start to collapse. It will take about 12 seconds.
Amid all the buzz surrounding the development, NCR residents must take note that there will be some traffic diversion and the police have issued an advisory about it. Roads leading to the twin towers in Noida will remain diverted on Sunday while around 600 police officials, including traffic personnel, will be deployed for law and order duty. The twin towers are set to be demolished at 2.30 pm on August 28 in pursuance of a Supreme Court order that found the structures were built in violation of norms.
