Recovery rate of Covid-19 patients improves to over 58%

The Union Government today said that a total of two lakh 95 thousand 881 people affected with corona virus have cured in the country. During the past 24 hours, 10 thousand 244 people have recovered from Covid-19 and the recovery rate reached to 58.13 per cent. Presently, the total number of active corona cases in the country is one lakh 97 thousand 387.

Health and Family Welfare Ministry said, a total of 18 thousand 552 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the country within 24 hours taking the total number of cases to five lakh eight thousand 953. This is the highest spike in fresh cases since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic in India. 384 deaths have been reported in a single day taking the nationwide toll to 15 thousand 685.

Meanwhile, Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR said that a total of two lakh 20 thousand 479 tests of corona virus samples were conducted by the various laboratories in the country within 24 hour. This is the highest number of tests conducted by the laboratories in the country since the outbreak of Covid-19 in India. So far, 79 lakh 96 thousand 707 tests have been conducted.

ICMR is continuously scaling up its testing facilities for Covid-19 by giving approval to government and private laboratories. As of now, total one thousand 26 laboratories across India have been given approval to conduct the test for Covid-19 including 741 government laboratories and 285 private laboratories’ chains.
