Rahul Gandhi violated security 113 times, CRPF said on Congress letter
Congress has raised the issue of lapse in security of Rahul Gandhi during Bharat Jodo Yatra. A day earlier, party leader KC Venugopal had written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah complaining about the security lapse. Now the answer of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has come regarding this. The CRPF has said that the guidelines issued regarding the security of Rahul Gandhi have been violated by Rahul Gandhi himself. Rahul has been informed about these security breaches from time to time.
CRPF said that Rahul Gandhi has violated security rules 113 times since 2020. He was informed about this every time. Even in the Delhi leg of Bharat Jodo Yatra, people accompanying him have violated security norms and the CRPF will deal with the issue separately.
According to the security force, all security arrangements have been made for Rahul. It is important to mention that whenever there is a visit to a protected person, the preparation for his security is done by the CRPF in collaboration with the state police and security agencies. The CRPF had made preparations for the Delhi leg of Bharat Jodo Yatra on 24 December itself. All security guidelines were followed and necessary force was provided by Delhi Police.
CRPF in its reply also said that full security arrangements have been made for Rahul Gandhi. These security arrangements were made by the CRPF in coordination with state police and security agencies during Rahul’s visit. CRPF said all security guidelines have been strictly followed and Delhi Police had also made adequate deployment of security personnel.
Congress leader Venugopal wrote in his letter to the central government that after the Bharat Jodo Yatra reached Delhi on December 24, there were several security breaches. The Delhi Police has on several occasions miserably failed to control the surging crowd during the yatra and to maintain the security cordon around Rahul Gandhi, who has Z plus security. The situation is so serious that the passengers and Congress workers accompanying Rahul Gandhi have to form a cordon around him, while, in the meantime, the Delhi Police remains a mute spectator.
