PM Modi inaugurates Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit at Gandhinagar in Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that ‘Heal in India’ can become a big brand of this decade and Wellness centers based on Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha can be very popular. Mr. Modi also announced to create a new category for Indian VISA- Ayush VISA, so that foreigners can avail the benefit of Indian expertise in Ayush sector.
He was addressing after inaugurating the Global AYUSH Investment & Innovation Summit at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar Gujarat today. The Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth and Director-General of World Health Organization Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus were also present on this occasion.
Prime Minister Modi also digitally launched Ayush Export Promotion Council on this occasion. Mr. Modi also launched IT initiatives like Ayush Information Hub, Ayush next, Ayusoft etc.
The Prime Minister in his address said no one could have imagined that we would be able to develop corona vaccines so quickly after the pandemic hit the world.
It happened because modern pharma companies, and vaccine manufacturers, got investment at the right time, this indicates that innovation and investment can increase the strength of any sector, he stressed.
Mr Modi said that the AYUSH sector will attract maximum investment in future and it begins from today. He said that the possibilities of investment and innovation in the field of AYUSH are limitless.
The industry is already witnessing unprecedented growth as the production of AYUSH medicines, supplements and cosmetics are increasing. He said that the AYUSH sector was less than 3 billion dollar in 2014, which has now crossed 18 billion Dollars.
Mr. Modi said that traditional medicine has helped Kerala in increasing tourism, this power is there in the whole of India, in every corner of India.
Mr. Modi said that FSSAI has also announced a new category named ‘AYUSH Aahar’ in its regulations last week. This will greatly facilitate the producers of herbal nutritional supplements.
