PeeCee lends her voice to an elephant

After becoming the first desi star to headline a mainstream American TV show, Quantico, Priyanka Chopra is set to embark on a school tour in the US and Europe as the voice of Ellie—the eponymous elephant of a new animated TV series that will be converted into a docufeature. “I’m going to be a walking, talking, mechanical elephant. Ellie and I am going to teach kids that elephants belong to the wild with their families, not in captivity, forced to learn tricks,” says the 33-year-old actress who will promote the show as part of PETA’s new campaign. The series follows Ellie’s journey after she is separated from her mother. She endures a nightmarish stint in a circus and is finally rescued and rehabilitated in a sanctuary.
