ONGC Petroleum Safety Institute bags ‘Golden Bird Certificate of Excellence’
IPSHEM, Goa has been declared winner of Golden Bird Best Training Award 2019 (Diamond Award) in a glittering function at Chandigarh on 2nd June 2019, organized by the Foundation for Accelerated Mass Empowerment. This coveted award has been bestowed to IPSHEM by the Foundation for Accelerated Mass Empowerment for its outstanding contribution towards excellence in best training practices by conducting quality HSE trainings.
IPSHEM is the premier institute of ONGC dedicated for Safety trainings in Petroleum Sector, Fire Fighting, Occupational Health and R&D in the field of Environmental studies. Initiatives taken by IPSHEM for cultivating the safety culture through Behaviour-based Safety (BBS) Trainings and field observation surveys, apart from other specialized Safety and Fire fighting training programs have shown results at ONGC work centres and brought laurels in the form of this Golden Bird Award (Diamond).
Head IPSHEM Atul Garg congratulated Team IPSHEM and especially the Training Group for bagging this Award. Such recognitions will further motivate IPSHEM to pursue its journey to excellence with a renewed zeal.
NHPC Conducts Analyst Meet Post Annual Result for FY 2018 -19
NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company and a ‘Mini Ratna’ Category-I Enterprise of the Government of India conducted an Analyst Meet on May 30, 2019 at Mumbai. The meet was attended by Shri Balraj Joshi, Chairman & Managing Director, Shri Ratish Kumar, Director (Projects), Shri N.K.Jain, Director (Personnel), Shri M.K. Mittal, Director (Finance), Shri Janardan Choudhary, Director (Technical) and other senior officers of the Company. The Management shared highlights of the financial year 2018-19 and an Investor Presentation was made to the analysts present in the meet. The Management of the Company further answered the queries raised by the analysts during question answer session after detailed presentation.
NCL to Produce 106 MT Plus Coal in FY 19-20: CMD, NCL
- K. Sinha, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Northern Coalfields Limited has said that NCL will create a record in current financial year (2019-20) by fulfilling its 106.25 Million Tonnes of coal production and 106.25 Million Tonnes of coal dispatch targets. He said that the previous financial year (2018-19) has been a proud year for NCL in which the company became third company of Coal India Limited that produce more than 100 million tonnes of coal annually. Shri Sinha was interacting with media persons at NCL headquarters on Saturday. On this occasion, Gunadhar Pandey, Director (Technical & Operations) NCL, P. M. Prasad, Director (Technical, Project and Planning) and Director (Finance and Personnel) N.N. Thakur were also present.
Referring to company’s accomplishments, Sinha said that in the last financial year (2018-19), the company produced 101.50 million tonnes of coal and dispatched 101.60 million tonnes of coal which not only exceeded the assigned targets, but also became the highest ever production and dispatch figures ever touched by the company in its history. The company recorded an increase of 9 percent in coal production and more than 5 percent in despatch compared to the previous financial year. The company supplied 88.52 million tonnes of coal to the power houses. Throughout the year, power houses had surplus coal and no instance of power houses running in critical or super critical stage was recorded. The company also made the highest despatch ever through the railways with an average of around 25.50 rakes supply per day.

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., India’s largest downstream Petroleum company, in conjunction with Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has launched an innovative industry-first driver welfare initiative – ‘Saarthi Aaram Kendra’ for the betterment of the driver community. The initiative provides pit stops for drivers to rest thereby improving their physical and mental well-being. The first of many ‘Saarthi Aaram Kendras was inaugurated’ at Bawal, yesterday on 30th May 2019, Rewari which is located on India’s busiest National highway-NH8.
Driver welfare and safety has always been the foremost priority for IndianOil and Tata Motors – right from designing trucks to providing tailored value-offerings for their overall wellbeing. The Saarthi Aaram Kendra is a step towards recognizing the efforts of commercial vehicle drivers and giving them access to basic amenities ‘on the go’.
Chairman CIL Meets Minister of Railways & Commerce
Anil Kumar Jha, Chairman, Coal India Limited (CIL), an Indian state-controlled coal mining company under the Ministry of Coal, met Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways and Commerce and former Coal Minister of India. Shri Jha wished the Minister the very best for his new assignment. Shri Goyal acknowledged the milestones achieved by CIL during the last five years in general and one year in particular. He wished Jha and the Coal India family the very best and urged CIL to be committed to providing energy security to the country.
GAIL records highest ever Annual PAT of Rs. 6,026 crore
GAIL (India) Limited recorded its highest ever Profit after Tax of Rs 6,026 crore for the Financial Year 2018-19 in its journey of over three decades, a rise of 30 % from Rs. 4,618 crore in the last fiscal on the back of better physical performance in all segments and better realisations. The Company’s turnover is up by 39% at Rs. 74,808 crore while Profit before Tax rose by 31% at Rs. 9,085 crore.
During the year, the Company registered 14% growth in Natural Gas Marketing and 2% growth in Natural Gas Transmission volumes while sales quantity in Petrochemicals, Liquid Hydrocarbons (LHC) and LPG Transmission segment rose by 9%, 4% and 7% respectively. The increase in profit was mainly due to robust performance of Natural Gas Marketing segment duly supported by increase in profit from Natural Gas Transmission, LHC and Petrochemicals segments.
