NHPC profit up 72.62%

State-run NHPC posted 72.62 per cent jump in standalone net profit to Rs 1,180.84 crore for the quarter ended on September 30, 2015, on account of higher income from operations. “The company has posted a net profit of Rs 1,180.87 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 whereas the same was at Rs 684.10 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2014,” NHPC Ltd informed in a filing. Total Income was Rs 2679.44 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 whereas the same was at Rs 2325.01 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2014. The company is mainly into power generation business.
