Today’s PCs have integrated all your need into one single functional device. The species of PCs better known as all-in-one are the concept of futuristic computers

During the development of first generation computers in 1940s, no one had ever imagined that the PCs would evolve with Jupiter velocity. Gradually, the size of the computers decreased with the advancement in the computing technology and then we saw new form of computers known as laptops. They were light and portable, easy to carry. Now the technological development has again done it in creating another species of computer—all-in-one PCs—which eliminates the three basic key components: the monitor, the computer case and the input devices. All-in-one PC is a single box display device which integrates the computer case and system components into the monitor so that the entire PC is contained in one unit.

Are they better than regular PCs?

All-in-one computers have emerged as a replacement of PCs due to many reasons. Firstly, they rule out the possibility of having many components mainly because the hardware is integrated into the monitor. Secondly, usage of cables is less as compared to computer, where one has to install many cables to connect the different parts of the device. Thirdly, due to their small sizes they use lower power and have less heat-generating components, which make them durable and energy efficient. However, desktops have distinct advantage over all-in-one PCs in terms of upgradability. Consumer can easily open the desktop computers to upgrade or replace the hardware configuration, whereas all-in-one systems tend to restrict upgradation due to its in-built nature.

What is the future of all-in-one computing devices?

Seeing the current rate of development in the field of all-in-one devices, it will be interesting to see the future of all-in-one computers. One possibility will be slickness, as today all-in-one computers are quite sleek and slim. With the circuits installed in the computers getting thinner and powerful, the performance of the all-in-one PCs will increase in coming days. Lastly, these computers will pave the way for new technology development and at present, these devices are getting a stronghold in the market.
