MP govt to provide video-calling facility, TV sets to COVID-19 patients
In Madhya Pradesh, the authorities have decided to provide video-calling facility and TV sets to COVID19 patients in hospitals to fend off depression as well as boredom. It is being started from Indore. If this effort is successful, all such facilities will be provided in the wards of corona infected patients in all major hospitals of the state.
Indore Divisional Commissioner Akash Tripathi said that the feeling of loneliness during hospitalization creates negativity among COVID-19 patients who are at the risk of slipping into depression. He informed that we are going to provide TV sets and video-calling facility in COVID-19 wards of every government and private hospital in the district. Officials also informed that private companies will also be roped in to provide these facilities under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme. One tablet with high speed Wi-Fi connection will be provided in each COVID-19 ward. Patients will be able to make video calls to their families using them. The Indore district has recorded 2 thousand 378 coronavirus cases.While, the number of coronavirus cases in the state rose to 4 thousand 790. The condition of 2 thousand 232 patients is stable while 243 have been died. So far, 2 thousand 315 people have recovered from coronavirus infection.
