Updated: June 22, 2020 1:37 pm

In Mizoram, the State Government has extended the ongoing total lockdown from 23rd to 30th of this month. The State Disaster Management Authority chaired by the Chief Secretary Lalnunmawia Chuaungo issued a notification on this yesterday. The decision is taken to sustain the ongoing efforts towards containment of COVID-19.

The state remains under 14-day total lockdown of 6th phase till today, which has been imposed due to rise of significant number of COVID-19 cases in the state and also for rapid rise in number of positive cases in the neighbouring states.

Earlier on 30th May, the State Government declared lockdown from 1st June to 30th June with wider relaxations to facilitate business and transport services. While shops and markets are imposed with restrictions for functioning from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
