Maharashtra: COVID-19 tally at 62228 cases

In Maharashtra, 8,381 patients were discharged yesterday, taking the tally of recovered patients to 26,997 till date. The recovery rate of the state has improved and it stands at 43.38 per cent while the mortality rate is 3.37 per cent. The doubling period of COVID-19 cases has also improved and it has become 15.7 days from 11 days last week.

In all, 2,692 new patients were found positive leading to a surge in cases to 33,124 active cases in the state. Total 116 deaths were registered, taking the death toll of the state to 2,098 due to the infection. The total number of COVID-19 cases till date is 62,228 in Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray conducted a review meeting with BMC Administration last evening. He had reviewed the availability of beds for COVID-19 patients and directed the Administration to follow up his demand of starting the local train service for the staff engaged in essential services with the Central Government.
