Let the Guy Pay!
Shweta Kawatra is one of the shining stars of the small screen galaxy. She is best known for her role of Pallavi in the popular television soap opera, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii.
At present she is hosting a Bollywood-based programme on SET MAX, Crime & Punishment on Sahara Samay Rashtriya and Good Morning Bollywood on Sahara One. She is acting in Sonu Sweety on Sab TV, in which she has appeared in an altogether different avatar.
In a formal chat with Uday India, the former national level roller-skating champ, Shweta Kawatra pointed out: “I had already made my mind to be an actress. It was early days, but I was quite sure I had found the one thing I really liked to do, and that was acting. I have been acting for the past many years. Before coming to Mumbai, I was modelling in Delhi where I got my first salary cheque of Rs 15,000.
To substantiate her acting skill perfectly, it would be worth mentioning that she is working in the shadow of Diasaku Keir. “He is the one to whom I admire the most and that is why he is on the top of my list of inspiration,” reveals Shweta.
Apart from being an actress, the lean woman Shweta also participated in a famous dancing TV show, Nach Baliye, which added a feather in her cap. Cracking all the controversies surrounding in her real life, she made herself known better as a no-nonsense, realistic person. Still she wished to change her habit of judging the people. “I feel that being a human being I don’t have the right to judge anybody,” said Shweta.
Of her first date, a blushing Shweta said, she did what a normal girl might have just thought of. “I went to a restaurant with that guy and I insisted that I will pay the bill. Having heard this that guy gave me an awful look beyond my comprehension. I mean if a girl is equally interested in the date, then can’t she foot the bill? This I used to think earlier, but now I would suggest to all the girls ‘Let the guy pay’,” Shweta said.
When asked about her latest crush she gushed and replied: “I am quite old to have a crush now. I am very much married and in complete love with my husband.” Shweta is just what she is on screen. She is among those actors who work hard to bring you your daily dose of entertainment. But when they are off the set, they surely know how to have a ball of a time. “Whenever I get spare time, I spend it with my family. And I make annual romantic trip every year to New York. I don’t really know the reason why I like to go there. In fact that’s the question I ask myself whenever I am there,” said Shweta.
Fond of Bollywood songs, her all-time favourite song is “Kya yehi pyaar hai” from Sanjay Dutt’s first movie “Rocky”. Fond of Thai Cuisine, Shweta’s memorable gift given to her by her partner is a little doggy. “That’s definitely one of the best and most thoughtful gifts I’ve got from him,” she said. At the scale of ten she rated herself between six and seven. When asked about her future move, she said: “I have resolved to make 2010 a success.”
