Lara Coming Back

The actress, who was getting prepped for the sequel of the same titled Chalo China, will now star in the film produced by her husband and tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi which will mark her comeback in the film industry. The film in question tentatively titled Abhi Nahi To Kabhi Nahi is said to be a quirky family drama and Lara Dutta will be seen playing the role of a small town girl and daughter of veteran actor Pankaj Kapur. Also, the actress will be seen as an independent woman who runs a cafe and later falls in love with Kay Kay Menon, an aspiring hotelier. Known for his unconventional and grey roles in Bollywood, it will be a rare scene to see Kay Kay as the man head over heels in love in this comedy drama. Abhi Nahi To Kabhi Nahi will go on floor in December and it will be extensively shot in North India.

Nawaz The New Farzi

If the buzz is to be believed then Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K’s con thriller Farzi which has Shahid Kapoor in the lead, will also have Nawazuddin Siddiqui playing a prominent role. The actor, who played the role of a hard headed cop in the Vidya Balan starrer Kahaani, will now play a character which is something in the lines of an undercover agent in Farzi. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who started off with minuscule yet impactful roles in films like Talaash, shot to fame with Gangs of Wasseypur II and he was recently seen chasing Salman Khan in the Sajid Nadiadwala directorial debut Kick. The film will be shot in varied locations from Mumbai to Delhi to Hyderabad. Produced by Eros, Farzi is also said to star Kriti Sanon and the film is slated to go on floors in November.

The Item Girl, Piggy Chops

Priyanka Chopra surely has an impressive line of movies to her credit. The latest one that we hear about her is that she will be playing an item girl’s role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s next. According to a leading daily, the film will showcase the journey depicting how an item girl becomes a strong politician of the country. The title of the film has not yet been disclosed by the makers.

Reports also suggested that Piggy Chops has apparently asked the director to mellow down the sexual content in the movie. However, the 32-year-old actress was later quoted as saying by the daily that she has not yet seen the final edit of the movie and such reports are baseless. Priyanka had earlier teamed up with Madhur for the 2008 hit film Fashion, which even fetched two National Awards that year. Both Priyanka and Kangana Ranaut bagged the award for ‘Best Actress’ and ‘Best Supporting Actress’ categories respectively.

Salman Accepts #Mycleanindia Challenge

Forget the ice bucket challenge, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently started a similar chain, nominating actors Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and industrialist Anil Ambani among nine people to spread the message of Clean India. Actor Salman Khan accepted the challenge posed by PM Narendra Modi and tweeted: “Me & my foundation accept the invite from our honourable Prime Minister for Swachh Bharat and will give our 100% for #MyCleanIndia.”

The others nominated are Goa Governor Mridula Sinha, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, yoga guru Baba Ramdev, actor-producer Kamal Haasan and the team of television serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
