Ladakh Administration, BRO sign MoU for upgradation of road network in UT

Ladakh Administration and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for upgradation and improvement of the road network in the union territory. The MoU was signed by Project HIMANK Chief Engineer Brig. Arvinder Singh, Project VIJAYAK Chief Engineer Brig. Ashish Gambhir and UT PW(R&B) Chief Engineer PC Tanoch, in presence of Principal Secretary, Dr Pawan Kotwal and Lt General, Rajeev Chaudhary. Ladakh has assigned seven projects to BRO considering their expertise in hilly areas to construct tunnels and roads. The MoU comprises of DPR preparation of tunnels and roads besides upgradation of three roads as per the required standards.
UT secretary Ajeet Kumar Sahu informed that BRO has agreed to upgrade roads on a fast track, funding will be provided by the UT Ladakh.
Completion of these projects will help the overall economy and tourism industry in the region.
