IPL 2021: Kolkata Knight Riders defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore by nine wickets

In the Indian Premier League, IPL 2021, Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) registered a comfortable nine-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi last night. Chasing a paltry 93-run target, KKR crossed the finishing line with ease in just 10 overs.

With this win, KKR rose to the fifth spot in the points table with three wins and six points off their eight games this season. RCB are still at third place in the points tally and looking good to qualify this year with six more games in their hand. Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell were the stars from Eoin Morgan-led KKR side with the haul of three wickets each that helped their side to restrict batting heavy RCB to a total of 92 runs in the first innings. Varun Chakravarthy was also declared Player of the Match.

Later, the opening pair of Shubman Gill with 48 runs and debutant Venkatesh Iyer who scored 41 not out dominated the chase right from the first over. Today, Punjab Kings XI will take on Rajasthan Royals at Dubai International Stadium.
