IPL 2020: Sunrisers Hyderabad defeats Chennai Super Kings
In IPL Cricket, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Chennai Super Kings by seven runs in Dubai last night. Opting to bat first, Hyderabad posted 164 runs for five in stipulated 20 overs. Priyam Garg was the highest run-scorer for Hyderabad, smashing his maiden half-century of the IPL as he scored 51 runs off 26 deliveries, followed by all-rounder Abhishek Sharma who contributed 31 runs off 24 balls. Captain David Warner made 28 off 29 balls. For Chennai, Pacer Deepak Chahar bagged two wickets, while Shardul Thakur and Piyush Chawla chipped in with a wicket each.
Against this, Chennai didn’t succeed chasing 165-run target and was restricted to a score of 157 for five in stipulated 20 overs. Ravindra Jadeja was the highest scorer for Chennai with 50 runs off 35 balls. Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni unbeaten on 47 off 36 balls and Faf du Plessis with 22 runs from 19 balls also made valuable contributions for the team. T Natarajan picked two wickets for Hyderabad while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Abdul Samad grabbed a wicket each.
