Intelligence reports on Khalistan in Punjab raises concern; Preparations on to tighten the noose

The activities of people associated with the Khalistan movement in Punjab are increasing in a worrisome manner. All intelligence reports indicate that people associated with the Khalistan movement are in touch with Khalistan supporters sitting in different countries. Central agencies are completely eyeing Khalistan supporters, active in different areas of Punjab. Their list has been prepared. Based on this, the Khalistan Tiger Force was banned under UAPA recently and Harvinder Singh Sandhu, who was associated with Babbar Khalsa International, was declared a terrorist.

Sources said, security and intelligence agencies have been asked to be special vigilance in view of the activities of Khalistan supporters in Punjab. The situation in Punjab was also discussed at the DG Conference. Apart from this, the NIA is also constantly monitoring the Khalistani alliance. The NIA has also investigated many important sources by raiding in this regard. IB and RAW are continuously collecting inputs on the activity of Khalistan supporters. Apart from this, there is also a diplomatic activity about Khalistani supporters, sitting in different countries, including Canada, Britain, Pakistan, America.

An official said, “During the DG meeting, there was a continuous warning of Pakistan’s nefarious act in the border areas and continuous efforts to activate Khalistan movement.” According to Indian intelligence agencies, Pakistan’s ISI is taking help from Khalistan and gangsters sitting in Canada to spread unrest in the country including Punjab.

Intelligence sources say that Pakistan is providing funding and weapons to help Khalistani supporters and terrorists through its embassies and high commissions around the world. Khalistani organisations have created hundreds of fake Twitter handles, which are posted on social media supporting Khalistan.

Khalistani groups take the support of fake Twitter accounts to make the hashtag, associated with Khalistan trend on social media. Last year, between 10 September and 10 October, 29032 tweets were made in support of the Khalistan referendum. The banned organisation, Khalistan Tiger Force was also assigned the task of spreading unrest in Punjab. Its work has also been to increase target killings and various terrorist activities in Punjab. Therefore, after the ban, central agencies are active to tighten the noose on its operatives as well.

Sources said, Khalistani organisations like Sikh for Justice are spreading propaganda against India by living in Canada, America, Germany, Britain. Lashkar-e-Khalsa has been formed on the instigation of ISI to activate terrorism in Punjab. The ISI has also created a Kashmir Khalistan desk, under which a common strategy of targeting is made in Kashmir and Punjab.
