Govt working on cyber security standards for smartphones

Following the recent cyber security breach, government is working on cyber security standards for smartphones. While speaking on this issue, union minister for electronics and information technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the standards, on which government is working are expected to be aimed at preventing the theft of personal and financial data through mobile phones. Prasad said that in three years 93 mobile manufacturer have come in India, in last few year years. Noida is emerging as a big hub for mobile manufacturing where 32 such mobile manufacturing companies have set up their bases.

Micromax Canvas Infinity

Micromax’s new premium smartphone called Micromax Canvas Infinity comprises Full Vision Display and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Micromax will be the first Indian smartphone maker which adopted this kind of aspect ratio.

Micromax Canvas Infinity Smartphone was launched with a 5.7-inch Full HD IPS LCD Capacitive Touchscreen and a resolution of 720 X 1440 pixels at a pixel density of 282 pixels per inch. It contains 2900 mAh battery and a Dual SIM like its previous smartphones. The smartphone also has a Front Facing Camera capable of shooting 16 MP selfies and 13 MP rear camera with Auto Focus, Face Detection.

Jio device  holds 90%  data share

Recent reports from Cyber Media Research are suggesting that Reliance Jio  Wi-Fi router JioFi controlled a 91% share of the data card market in the April-June quarter. As to the report the  data cards of Jio grew 16% to 4 million from over 3.4 million in the January-March quarter. Jio’s popularity was driven because of its free data services and mobile hotspots. Jio recently offered data worth Rs 1,999 and unlimited voice calls for free to new customers buying its JioFi router.
