The seeds of most plants are rich in nutrients and provide us with health benefits. The uniqueness of flax seeds is that it has three nutrient aspects, and all three play a key role in providing us the outstanding health benefits of this food. The first one is Omega 3 fatty acids, the second is plant estrogen and anti oxidants (lignans) and the third is fibre (both soluble and unsoluble). Recently, we have seen many new food items being added to our list of diet. Flax seeds are one of them. Though they have been there for thousands of years, only through recent studies we have come to know of their medicinal value and innumerable health benefits.
