DMRC to develop Ecology Park using scrap material
After setting the tone for transportation in the national Capital, the Delhi Metro is now leading the way in cleaning up after itself. In a move to save the environment, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is developing an Ecology Park using scrap material and leftovers from its own construction sites. The park, spread over 42,000 sqm in Shastri Park, will have on display the artworks created out of waste by 12 artists. It will soon be thrown open for public. “Waste and scrap materials have been used to create interesting sculptures that will be placed at the Eco Park at various locations. Around 20–25 tonnes of waste was used to create 12 sculptures,” said a DMRC official.
