Delhi rocked by earthquake tremors
New Delhi: Earthquake tremors were felt in the national capital Delhi on Tuesday. However, there was no loss of life or property in this. The earthquake occurred at 2:30 in the afternoon. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was Nepal. It said that an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale hit Nepal at 2:28 pm today. The earth trembled for more than 5 seconds in Delhi NCR.
It is noteworthy that in the new year, earthquake tremors were felt thrice in Delhi. Earlier, the beginning of the new year for the people of Delhi-NCR was marked by an earthquake, which
was accompanied by tremors. After this, there was an earthquake on January 5 as well.
On Tuesday, apart from Delhi NCR, earthquake tremors were also felt in many other areas of Uttar Pradesh. Tremors were also felt in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. So far no damage has been reported. As soon as the tremors were felt, people panicked and ran outside the houses.
Earlier on January 5, there was an earthquake of 5.9 magnitude in Afghanistan. Its tremors were also felt in Delhi and surrounding areas. There was no news of any injury or loss of property in this also. The earthquake occurred in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan at around 7:55 pm. The epicenter of the earthquake was 79 km south of Fayzabad, Afghanistan at a depth of 200 km.
