Delhi: Lt Guv rejects govt’s decision to allow hotels, weekly markets

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has rejected the Delhi Government’s decision to allow hotels and weekly markets under Unlock 3. An official said, the matter was discussed with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and it was agreed that while there has been improvement in the situation, the pandemic threat is still far from over. Therefore a cautious and conservative approach is required.

The proposal to allow Rehari Patriwallahs to operate for longer hours from today has been approved. However, the proposals regarding opening of hotels and hospitality services and opening of weekly Bazaars have been deferred for the time being. It will be reviewed by the State Disaster Management Authority later.
