COVID-19 recovery rate improves to 54.12 per cent in the country
The Union Government today said that the recovery rate of Covid-19 reached 54.12 per cent in the country and a total of two lakh 13 thousand 831 people have been cured so far. During the last twenty four hours, nine thousand 120 people have recovered from Covid-19. Presently, the total number of active corona cases in the country is one lakh 68 thousand 269.
Health and Family Welfare Ministry said, a total of 14 thousand 516 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to three lakh 95 thousand 48. This is the highest number of cases registered in a single day since the outbreak of the pandemic Covid-19 in the country. In one day, a total of 375 deaths have been reported taking the nationwide toll to 12 thousand 948. The case fatality rate is 3.27 per cent in the country.
Meanwhile, Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR said that a total of one lakh 89 thousand 869 tests of corona virus samples were conducted by various laboratories in the country in the last 24 hours. This is the highest number of tests conducted by the laboratories in a single day. So far, 66 lakh 16 thousand 496 tests have been conducted.
ICMR is continuously scaling up its testing facilities for Covid-19 by giving approval to government and private laboratories. As of now, total 974 laboratories across India have been given approval to conduct the test for Covid-19 including 715 government laboratories and 259 private laboratory chains.
