Covid—19: Maharashtra crosses 10,000-mark

With the addition of 583 new positive patients, Maharashtra crossed 10,000-mark in Covid 19 infections.

The total tally of corona positive patients now stands at 10,498.

State health department official said that 27 more patients succumbed to the disease, taking the toll to 459. The maximum number of cases have come from Mumbai.

As many as 417 new cases were reported from the metropolis alone yesterday taking the total tally of positive cases from the city to 6,875.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said the death toll in the metroplis went up to 290 with 20 more people succumbing to the infection.

498 suspected patients have been admitted to various hospitals in the city.

With five more persons testing coronavius positive, the count of COVID-19 patients in Nashik district of Maharashtra reached 281.

The new patients are from Malegaon town in the district. Coronavirus positive cases in Solapur city of Maharashtra touched the 100-mark on Thursday.

Meantime, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Chhagan Bhujbal has informed that the distribution of foodgrains through fair price shops in the state amid lockdown, has been smooth.

He informed that 69 lakh 16 thousand 722 quintals of foodgrains have been distributed to 1 crore 56 lakh 2 thousand 434 ration card holders in the state in during April 2020.
