Country’s COVID vaccination coverage surpasses 47 crore 78 lakh mark
India’s COVID vaccination coverage has surpassed 47 crore 78 lakh mark yesterday. Union Health Ministry said that more than 37 crore vaccine doses were administered as first dose and ten crore 57 lakh vaccice doses given as second dose so far.
The Ministry said, more than 53 lakh 67 thousand vaccine doses have been administered yesterday. Over 27 lakh 76 thousand vaccine doses were administered as first dose and more than four lakh 82 thousand vaccine doses given as second dose in the age group 18 to 44 years yesterday. Over 15 crore 99 lakh persons in the age group 18 to 44 years across 37 States and UTs have received their first dose.
The Ministry said, five states namely Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have administered more than one crore doses in the age group of 18 to 44 years. Besides, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have vaccinated more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group of 18 to 44 years for the first dose.
