New Delhi: After the statement of Congress leader Digvijay Singh regarding the surgical strike, this matter is now gaining momentum. On Monday, he raised questions regarding the surgical strike and also made several allegations against the central government, after which the Congress had to clarify. The Congress shrugged off his statement and said that these were his personal views. During the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir, Digvijay Singh was once again surrounded by journalists, then Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh intervened and asked them to go to the Prime Minister and ask questions.

Furiously, he said, “The party has already said what the Congress had to say on this. Now go to PM Modi and ask him.” Earlier on Monday, Jairam Ramesh had said, “The Congress has said what it wanted to say and I have also tweeted about it. Beyond that, I don’t want to say anything.” It is noteworthy that Bharat Jodo Yatra is now in Jammu and Kashmir, and today the journey started from Sitni Bypass Nagrota.

It is worth mentioning here that Digvijay Singh had said, “40 of our CRPF soldiers were martyred in Pulwama. CRPF officials had requested PM Modi to airlift all the soldiers, but PM Modi did not agree, how did such a mistake happen? After this statement, Digvijay Singh has come under the target of BJP. The party said that this is an insult to the army and it will not be tolerated.

Digvijay Singh had said from a forum during the Bharat Jodo Yatra that till date the Center has not presented a report in Parliament regarding the surgical strike of 2016 or the Pulwama terror attack of 2019. He also said that the government has not presented any evidence so far and it has been lying. During this, referring to Kashmir, he said that the Prime Minister used to say that terrorism will end, but after the removal of Article 370, terrorism has increased. He alleged that the government does not want to take a decision here and wants to perpetuate the problem so that films like ‘Kashmir Files’ continue to be made and spread hatred among the people.
