Chitrangada Does A Marlyn Monroe
Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh did a Marilyn Monroe, imitating the Hollywood screen siren’s moves as she danced to the beats of ‘Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend’ on the ramp at the India Couture Week recently. The song, introduced by Carol Channing in the original Broadway production of ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’, is most famously performed by Monroe in the 1953 film of the same name.
Donning a black off shoulder ball gown, romantic wavy hair and an exquisite diamond neck piece, the 38-year-old actress swirled her way on the ramp and her fun and flirty moves were similar to what Monroe was seen doing in the classic song. The 38-year-old actress was one of the show stoppers at the grand finale of ICW, the other being Bipasha Basu.
Chitrangada was last seen on the big screen in ‘I, Me Aur Main’, which released last year. She has three films in her kitty right now. The first is Aur Devdas ’Banddokbaaz opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui and one unnamed film with Randeep Hooda.
Aamir—The Bad Man
Aamir did stunned his critics with his grey image in Dhoom 3. Now If the grapevine is to be believed Mr Perfectionist might adopt a grey character once again. The 49-year-old actor has been approached to play the baddie in Robot 2, a sequel to Rajinikanth’s superhit Robot.
It has also been learnt that at the first Robot was offered to Shah Rukh Khan and then to Aamir Khan. However, when they declined the offer, it was Rajinikanth who took it up. The movie was one of highest budget movies made in India and released in Hindi, Telegu and Tamil worldwide in the year 2010.
Now since the offer has been proposed to Aamir for the sequel, will he be able to break the impact that superstar Rajinikanth has left behind in Robot starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead, that we have to wait and watch!
Daksha To Train Ranveer–Deepika
According to a report in a leading tabloid Sanjay Leela Bhansali is leaving no stone unturned to ensure his dream project, the Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone period romance, Bajirao Mastani, is made on an epic scale with special attention to detail. The perfectionist filmmaker has approached Daksha Sheth to train Ranveer and Deepika in Kalaripayattu, an ancient martial arts form that is also one of the oldest fighting systems in existence. Bhansali has already finalised locations for these action scenes in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Deepika will be seen in several elaborate dance numbers. She will learn Kathak under Sheth’s tutelage while both will take extensive training in Kalaripayattu from her. Over the past 45 years, Sheth has carved a niche for herself in the arena of dance, amalgamating traditional forms like Kathak, Chhau, Kalaripayattu and Mallakhamb with contemporary techniques. Sheth had previously trained her daughter, Isha Shravani, for Subhash Ghai’s Vivek Oberoi starrer Kisna.
Chi Chi Will Play Alia’s Dad
It seems that Govinda is these days easily available to play onscreen fathers. The actor, who is playing Ranbir Kapoor’s father in Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos, will soon begin shooting for Vikas Bahl’s Shaandar, in which he will be seen as leading lady Alia Bhatt’s father.
It’s a comic role albeit not a large one. But Govinda responded positively to the script. It seems that he is ready to play a father now because he knows that he cannot play, or get the romantic lead roles he did during the 90’s.
Shaandar will be Vikas Bahl’s second film after the much-acclaimed Queen and will be shot extensively in Europe too.
