Campaigning intensifies for next phase of polling in UP and for single-phase in Goa and Uttrakhand on Feb 14

With first phase of polling for Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh over now, all political parties have shifted their focus to the other phases of elections in the state. Political parties have intensified their poll campaign to garner the support of the public.

Many leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi will campaign in Uttar Pradesh today. Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a really at patiyali assembly seat of Kasganj district in Uttar Pradesh today.

Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will campaign in Bareilly district today while another BJP leader and Union Information and Broadcasting minister Anurag Singh Thakur will campaign in Varanasi.

Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav will campaign for party candidates in Rampur district.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will hold virtual karykarta sammelan with the candidates and party workers of assembly seats of Amethi district. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi will address political rally at Saharanpur district.

In Uttarakhand, on the last leg of political campaigning ahead of the polls on 14 February for the 70 assembly seats, political parties and candidates have given it their all for a win.

Cities and towns across the state are abuzz with sounds of political advertisements, campaigning activities of party supporters and workers and jingles of respective candidates flowing from megaphones and loudspeakers. Prominent national party leaders also holding public rallies and meetings across the state for different candidates.

Leaders of different political hues campaigned in the state in the recent days including BJP Leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra and Rahul Gandhi, BSP Chief Mayawati, among others. People of the state have thronged to rallies and public events to listen to politicians.

All major parties including INC, BJP, SP among others have released their manifestos.

Election Commission is encouraging voters across the state to vote en masse in the upcoming elections.

Under Election Commission’s SVEEP, special awareness programs, especially tailor-made for the first time voters were held in the months prior, to increase voter enrolment and increasing voter participation to strengthen democracy.

Chief Electoral Officer of the state has assured the people that all arrangements have been made for free, fair and transparent elections.
