The proposal of Bhupendra Patel’s name for the post of Chief Minister has been passed unanimously in the BJP Legislature Party meeting in Gujarat. According to sources, today evening Bhupendra Patel will come to Delhi along with BJP State President CR Patil and will meet PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

A meeting of the BJP Legislature Party was called today under the chairmanship of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Former Karnataka CM Yeddyurappa and Union Minister Arjun Munda also attended the meeting as observers. Bhupendra Patel’s name has been passed unanimously in the Legislature Party meeting.

Here it is worth mentioning that the BJP formed the government by winning 156 seats in the 182-member Gujarat Assembly.  This is the best record not only of BJP but of any political party so far. BJP had earlier won 127 seats in 2002. Then Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Here it is noteworthy that CM Bhupendra Patel won with a record margin of 1.92 lakh votes. He got 2,12,480 votes.

This is BJP’s 7th victory in Gujarat assembly elections. BJP has been running the government on its own since 1995. After this BJP won in 1998, 2002, 2007, 2012, 2017 and now in 2022 as well.
