BJP-led coalition government in Manipur wins trust vote
The strength of the 60-member Manipur Assembly has been reduced to 53 at present after the resignation of three MLAs and disqualification of four MLAs under the Anti-Defection Law. The BJP has 18 MLAs while the opposition party Congress has 24 MLAs. Moving the Confidence Motion, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that Union Government has released an amount of 306 crore rupees for development on Minor Irrigation Sector in Manipur. Under the project, satellite mapping will be used to identify availability of ground water and around 300 RCC dams will be built for water storage.
