Big relief to Pawan Kheda, Supreme Court grants interim bail
The matter of arrest of Congress leader Pawan Kheda reached the Supreme Court on Thursday, where he got a big relief. The Supreme Court has given interim relief to Pawan Kheda. Along with this, it has been decided to hear all the three FIRs at one place.
The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Assam Police and the Uttar Pradesh Police to club the FIR against the Congress leader. Along with this, the Supreme Court granted Pawan Kheda interim relief till February 28, Tuesday.
To explain to you in simple words, the Assam Police cannot, at present, arrest Pawan Kheda and take him to Assam. However, the Assam Police had got Pawan Kheda’s medical done. In fact, FIRs have been registered against Pawan Kheda in Varanasi, Lucknow and Assam for his objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Supreme Court has issued a notice to club these three FIRs.
Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi presented Pawan Kheda’s side in the Supreme Court. He has provided information to the court through the petition. Also requested the court to give interim relief to Pawan Kheda.
Singhvi told the court that Pawan Khera had a slip of the tongue and it was a mistake. Pawan Kheda had apologised for this. Meanwhile, the counsel appearing for the Assam Police said that Pawan Khera has been arrested and will be produced in a court for transit remand.
Pawan Khera has got interim bail till 28 February. In such a situation, different types of questions might be arising in your mind regarding interim bail, then let us tell you that the bail granted for some time is called interim bail.
Interim bail is granted by the court during the pendency of any application. Also interim bail is available when your application for regular or anticipatory bail is not pending before the court. It is given with certain conditions.
It is worth mentioning here that Pawan Kheda was going to Raipur to attend the Congress session on Thursday. Meanwhile, he was offloaded from the Indigo Airlines flight and was later arrested by the Assam Police from the airport. During this, Pawan Kheda said that this is a long battle and I am ready to fight it.
