In Prayagraj, action is going on against the close relatives of former MP Ateeq Ahmed in the Umesh Pal murder case. Bulldozer is running on Ateeq’s close ones. Goods were removed from the house of Zafar in Kasari Masari before its demolition. The Rapid Action Force has surrounded the house. The movement of ordinary people has been stopped. Before the action, the power supply of the locality was cut off. There is information of getting two guns from the house. A sword has also been recovered from the house. It is a matter of investigation whether the gun was used in the murder of Umesh Pal. Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) officers are on the spot.

On the other hand, PDA’s bulldozer is taking action at Shaista Parveen’s residence in Chakia. It is being said that Zafar’s house is 50 meters away from Ateeq’s house. Zafar was originally a resident of Banda. From there he came to Prayagraj and joined Ateeq. Zafar has half a dozen cases against him. According to Shaista’s lawyer Saulat, this house is Zafar Ahmed’s immovable property, Shaista used to live on rent. This house is named after Zafar who is a journalist with ANI in Banda.

The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) on Wednesday started the demolition of the two-storey house of Shaista Parveen, wife of mafia leader Ateeq Ahmed, in Chakia locality of Kareli police station area of Prayagraj. PDA officials claimed that the house was built illegally, hence it was being demolished.

Parveen, the accused named in the sensational murder of advocate Umesh Pal, the main witness in the BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case, is currently absconding along with her sons. In September 2020, Ateeq Ahmed’s own house, also located in Chakia, was demolished for “illegal construction”, after which Parveen shifted to this house.

A team of PDA, assisted by heavy police force, reached Chakia Mohalla with bulldozers on Wednesday morning and the boundary wall in front of the house worth around Rs 2.5 crore was brought down soon. After this, the labourers started bringing household items and furniture inside. Officials said that when the PDA team reached to demolish it, the house was already vacant. Officials present at the spot said that the team claimed to have found a rifle, some live bullets and posters of a political party from the house. In January, Shaista Parveen had joined the BSP and announced that she had been nominated as the party’s mayoral candidate from Prayagraj.
