7 die, 50 injured in explosion in Dhaka
In Bangladesh, at least 7 people died and 50 others were injured in an explosion in the bustling commercial area of Moghbazar in the capital city Dhaka yesterday, reports the official news agency BSS. Buses, cars and pedestrians on the road nearby during the time of the blast suffered damages and injuries.
The Commissioner of Dhaka metropolitan police (DMP) Md Shafiqul Islam told BSS that seven buildings were damaged in the blast in which 7 people were killed. The fire service and police carried out drives to recover the victims of the accident.
The injured have been shifted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and plastic surgery and other hospitals in the city.
