RINL inks MoU with CCI for Cement Plant
Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) the corporate entity of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and Cement Corporation of India (CCI), a public sector undertaking, under the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up 2 mtpa Fly Ash and blast furnace (BF) slag based cement plant in a joint venture in two phases of one million tonne capacity each.
RINL generates a large quantity of BF slag and fly ash, the chief raw material required for the plant. CMD of CCI Manoj Misra and RINL Director (Projects) P.C. Mohapatra signed the MoU in the presence of CMD, RINL P Madhusudan. The JV project cost is worth nearly Rs.150 crore and RINL is offering around 35 acres of land for the proposed cement plant. The project is proposed to be completed in 15 months from the date of placement of order.
