A very perturbing incident occurred on May 1st when sixteen persons, including 15 security personnel of C-60 commandos were martyred in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli after a powerful explosion, set off by Maoists, blew up their vehicle. The blast was triggered at 12.30 pm, hours after Maoists torched at least three dozen vehicles belonging to private contractors in Kurkheda sub-district of Gadchiroli. This is the second such incident after Pulwama attack which was designed by Pakistan-based terror organisation Jaish-e-Muhammad . Subsequently Indian Air force carried out Air Strike in Pakistan and bombed terror camps of Jaish in Balakot. However, this Maoist attack in Maharashtra was neither designed on foreign land, not carried out by foreign terrorists. But the truth is that some well-educated people living in safe zones in our country are behind this attack. They incite the young impressionable mind to take guns under the banner of Maoism and fight against government in the name of justice. However, this is also true that in last five years, these Maoists and Naxals have been marginalised due to some concrete steps taken by Narendra Modi-led NDA government.
Having said that, it cannot be gainsaid that these Maoist sympathisers are once again getting political space. The so-called liberal brigade, which raised slogans like ‘Bharat tere tukde honge’ and ‘Bharat ki barbadi tak’ in JNU, is receiving huge amounts of funds, which is substantiated by the fact that a few of this brigade are contesting the Lok Sabha election, which needs money–in fact, huge money. It should not be forgotten that these same people call Naxals innocent and openly support their anti-India activities. And the best example is ‘Pathalgarhi’ incident in Jharkhand’s Khunti and Odisha’s Sundargarh, where a section of people, provoked by these liberal and ‘Tukade-Tukade gang’, have been demanding autonomy from the Centre. And now, according to a report in ‘Indian Express’; these people are saying that they will not cast their votes in this Lok Sabha elections, as they are dubbed anti-nationals by the government for their Pathalgarhi activities. Therefore, it is the need of the hour that these people should be brought into the mainstream, and those who aid and abet them should be dealt with strictly.
