Aditi turns into a gothic princess

Aditi Rao Hydari and director Bejoy Nambiar recently shot a video for the Kerala-based band, Thaikkudam Bridge. It’s a Malayalam song but the director plans to subtitle it in Hindi and English and reach out to a bigger audience. “I had planned to use one of the band’s songs in Wazir but due to some last-minute issues things didn’t work out. But I was happy to direct a video for them. They even let me choose the song. I then convinced Aditi and Freddy Daruwala, whose work I had liked in Holiday, to feature in the track. Ravi Varman, the cinematographer of Tamasha, has shot it,” says the director. It’s a stylised, cutting-edge video shot in black-and-white. The song is titled “Aarachar” which can be translated as hangman in Malayalam. “That’s because politicians and even the aam aadmi behave like hangmen, holding the country at ransom over the smallest of issues. It’s a satire that every Indian will identify with,” he asserts.
